The Business Academy at Miami Killian Senior High School is designed to provide a basic overview of current business and information systems and trends, and to introduce students to fundamental skills required for today's business and academic environments. Students enrolled in this Academy earn industry certification; participate in internships, and network with business leaders. The following are some of computer and business career opportunities: Computer Specialist, Computer Programmer, Multimedia Developer, Network Support Specialist, Web Master, Accountant, Small Business Owner, and Business Manage. The Fine Arts Academy at Miami Killian Senior High School offers a challenging curriculum designed to meet the needs of the students interested in the performing and visual arts. Students are engaged through areas of study that nurture talent in dance, music, theatre, and the visual arts. Graduates of the Fine Arts Academy are prepared for entrance into leading colleges and universities, or they may choose to immediately enter their respective professional fields. These fields include: composing; jazz instrumental performances; music education; choreography; dance; acting; song writing; graphic design; journalism; illustration; art education; photography, advertising, and vocalist.

Army Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps at Miami Killian Senior High School is an exciting elective course for young men and women who have the desire to learn leadership skills. Students will earn credit towards graduation while learning leadership with a heavy emphasis on motivating others to become better citizens. The program provides ongoing instruction in leadership theory, drill and ceremonies, hygiene and first aid, introduction to maps and map reading, techniques of oral communication. Students have an opportunity to participate in a variety of challenging and exciting extra-curricular activities such as the competition drill team and color guard. Students are given uniforms and earn rank, awards, and military decorations. The program is organized as an actual U.S Army unit. Under the supervision of Major Brown and Sergeant Roman, cadets supervise and manage their units.

The Culinary Arts Academy at Miami Killian Senior High School prepares students to further their education and careers in the Hospitality and Tourism field with a focus on employment in the Food Service part of the industry. It provides technical skills through hands-on labs with real culinary experiences. The program concentrates on all aspects of food preparation, presentation, and serving, as well as leadership, communication skills, employability skills, and safe/efficient work practices. It prepares the students for the ServSafe Managers Program, the nationally recognized certification in the Hospitality and Tourism Industry.
